What is an activation and placement voucher (AVGS)?
The activation and placement voucher (AVGS) is issued by the employment agencies or job centers for job seekers. Jobseekers can use this voucher to hire private consulting and training companies to support them in their job search, for example, by providing job application training. No personal costs are incurred by them in the process.
Do you have a legal right to an activation and placement voucher (AVGS)?
You can apply for an activation and placement voucher (AVGS) if you are receiving unemployment benefit I (ALG I). Incidentally, this also applies if you top up ALG I with ALG II (Hartz IV). It is important that you are in the ALG I system. In the case of recipients of ALG II, the job center has discretionary powers to issue it to you. Especially if you show initiative as a job seeker and ask for an AVGS, the chances are very good.
How do you make a request?
You simply submit the application to your responsible case worker at the employment agency or job center. Either in a personal conversation with your case worker or by letter, telephone, e-mail and fax. It is an informal cover letter, with reference to the respective paragraphs in the Social Code that apply to your situation. In addition to the distinction between ALG I and ALG II, reference can also be made to long-term unemployment or physical disability.
Can I also redeem an education voucher at the IRC Coaching Academy?
At the IRC Coaching Academy, you can only redeem an activation and placement voucher (AVGS). You cannot redeem an education voucher with us.
How long is an AVGS valid?
The AVGS can be limited in time and region. As a rule, it is issued for 2 months, as long as no circumstances arise regarding the basis of entitlement (e.g. taking up employment, change from ALG I to ALG II, etc.).
Is it possible to pay for coaching yourself?
If you are not currently eligible for an activation and placement voucher (AVGS), you can also pay for coaching with us privately. We will be happy to make you an individual offer according to your needs. We can also create an individual offer for companies and their employees. We will be happy to advise you on the application process.
